报告摘要:The lack of effective tests to assist in selecting appropriate treatments according to the disease state of prostate cancer patients is a major issue, leading to the problem of overtreatment. To overcome this challenge, we have created a directed learning approach, 2LHLASSO, that hierarchically integrates multi-omics predictors establishing links with prostate cancer outcomes. This approach has established a network of multi-omics factors that may co-drive cancer progression. Our bioinformatics analysis revealed that a subset of prostate cancers may be caused by human papillomavirus (HPV). Our analysis of RNA-seq data from an independent prostate cancer cohort (100 patients) provided additional support for the finding that genes affected by HPV infection.
